Computer monitor mounting arm assemblies
Both wall-mounted and desktop-mounted assemblies come with either single or multiple support arms. Mount desktop units with dual-locking C-clamps or on vertical poles inserted into work-surface grommets. Like many fixed monitor mounts and stands that hold PC display screens, some desktop single-monitor arms come with sturdy V-shape bases. This provides portability between different workspace arrangements. LCD monitor arm assemblies hold a range of monitor sizes, from 12 and 13 inches to as wide as 43 inches. Made of cold-rolled steel or aluminum alloys, many assemblies are weight-rated for 20 pounds or more per arm.
The LCD monitor arm offers a range of motion
Today’s office environment emphasizes ergonomic task arrangements, with options that include sit-stand desks and lap desks and stands. Monitor mounts are also ergonomic, with partially or fully articulating arm movements. Workers can adjust monitors to the angle, height, and proximity they need for optimal neck and eye relief. Many assemblies have tilt ranges of up to 30 degrees. Most have swivel ranges of 180 degrees on one or multiple link-pivot joints. Some rotate from full landscape to portrait orientation. Multiple extension-link joints can collapse or extend the arms from 2 to 15 inches for wall-mounted units. Desk-mounted units support an extended range of 5 to 26 inches.
Computer monitor arms include multi-monitor assemblies
Most desktop C-clamp or pole-mounted monitor arms have dual supports. This arrangement is ideal for shared worktop space or for workers who need two display screens to complete their assignments. While many dual-monitor arm mounts are available as extendable units, some come on fixed rails that offer pan-adjustable screen mounts. Pole mounts are available for vertical adjustments. Most dual mounts are suitable for ergonomic standing desks. These give workers the option of sitting or standing for taskwork. In addition, tri-mount and quad-mount monitor assemblies are available. Most assemblies offer the following additional features:
- Spring or pneumatic tensioning arms, for fingertip height and proximity adjustments
- VESA flat-screen mounting-interface standards, from 50 x 50 mm to 100 x 100 mm
- Cable management clips to secure wiring
In addition, some assemblies come with built-in USB ports for coupling monitors with peripherals. Check out Quill for the full range of mounting arms to find the ideal one for a workspace.
