First class Tyvek envelopes provide a range of protection
Tyvek packets are part of the family of mailing supplies for posting documents securely. Tyvek consists of high-density polyethylene fibers woven into a coating that serves as a moisture barrier against the elements. The coating is also tear- and puncture-resistant, so it stands up well to the rigors of postal transport. The coating accepts labeling adhesives as well as pen, highlighter, and inkjet printing without smearing or bleeding. Tyvek first class envelopes, 10 x 13 inches and many other available dimensions, are an ideal office-supply complement to poly bubble mailers for mailing oversize documents and other items that need a high level of protection.

Like padded mailers, Tyvek mailers come in a range of dimensions to fit practically any hard-copy business presentation document, including brochures and calendars in addition to catalogs and booklets. While 6 x 9 inch Tyvek envelopes are available, other dimensions start at 9 x 12 inches and come as large as 12 x 15.5 inches. In addition, envelopes are available with an expandable depth for thick, rigid enclosures. The 10 x 13 envelopes offer an extra depth of 1.5 inches. Large-size 12 x 16 inch envelopes have an expandable depth of 2 inches.
The design of Tyvek first class envelopes, 10 x 13 and other sizes
All the Tyvek large-size envelopes have convenient, secure straight-flap closures. These flaps have a peel-off strip that exposes a strong adhesive backing for sealing the envelope with fingertip pressure. The envelope remains securely closed until recipients cut it open. First class envelopes have the traditional design:
- A full white field on each side and flap
- Green diamond pattern along the edge of the envelope, with the First Class Mail legend inside each diamond
- First Class Mail legend stamped on the face of each envelope
