Why audio-signal HDMI-VGA adapters are necessary

Types of HDMI-VGA converter configurations

HDMI to VGA with audio adapters contain audio converters, either cartridge-style straight-connectors, or converter boxes wired with a cable. The End-1 output is a standard or micro male HDMI connector, and the End-2 input is a female VGA connector, either 15-pin or 19-pin, depending on the model. Straight and box converters contain a female audio port that accepts a standard 3.5 mm audio cable, which passes the signal through to the VGA’s female audio port. The HDMI-VGA digital-analog audio converters can transfer 2-channel stereo sound, and some can add a subwoofer signal for 2.1 stereo sound.
