Monitor cable adapters provide many different connections

Devices such as PCs, laptops, and notebooks use cables to send signals from their videocard interfaces to output displays. This includes monitors, projectors, TVs, and a variety of other devices. Connector types include HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, USB, and VGA. Many of these connection types transmit both digital audio and video signals although DVI transmits only video signals and VGA transmits analog signals. DisplayPort to VGA cables allow these signals to cross between devices that otherwise wouldn’t use them.

Adapters let users connect different connector types and devices with one another, but it’s still important to ensure compatibility between them. For instance, DVI also includes an integrated analog-digital signal that works with either VGA or DVI monitors and projectors. Standard DVI is a digital interface that only works with DVI monitors and projects. In these cases, it’s not compatible with VGA.

These include mini-HDMI ports for DSLR cameras, high-definition camcorders, and tablets. HDMI, USB, DisplayPort, and DVI to VGA cable adapters have a selection of different configurations, so it’s important to find the adapter with the specific port size and pin number for a project.

DisplayPort to VGA and other special adapter setups
