OfficeJet 6950 ink cartridges to support model 6950
Many printers offer functions other than just printing. The HP 6950 is an OfficeJet all-in-one machine that copies, scans, faxes, and prints various documents and uses 902 ink cartridges. It offers thermal inkjet printing with four separate OfficeJet 6950 ink cartridges in black and cyan, magenta, and yellow. The cartridges can handle fast output speeds of up to 29 pages ppm in black and white, and up to 24 ppm in color. HP 902 standard-yield and HP 902XL ink cartridges are also compatible with OfficeJet Pro 6968 and 6978 all-in-one printers.
OfficeJet 6950 uses pigment-based ink
The numerous all-in-one printers on the market consist of laser printing models with toner powder cartridges or inkjet printing models with either pigment or dye-based ink cartridges or both. The four separate ink cartridges for the HP 6950 contain only pigment-based ink, consisting of insoluble pigment powder suspended in liquid. Because the particles don’t dissolve, they keep their natural coloration when transferred onto paper. They’re fade and moisture-resistant, and they are less apt to smudge than dye-based inks.

Page yields of standard and XL ink cartridges
A wide variety of HP printer cartridges come in standard-yield capacities that may vary from 190 to 300 pages, and in XL capacities that can be twice that amount. HP 902 standard-yield cartridges are at the high end of page output, while HP 902XL ink exceeds the typical range. Standard-yield black cartridges are rated for 300 pages of output per cartridge, while their cyan, magenta, and yellow counterparts can provide up to 315 pages. The HP 902XL black ink and the color cartridges can yield up to 825 pages of output, nearly tripling the standard-yield amount.
