Paper Mate Sharpwriters contain high-quality graphite
Writing implements include pens with ballpoint or gel ink, and pencils with lead that’s non-toxic graphite. Pencils are either sheathed sticks with graphite cores you sharpen into writing tips, or mechanical barrels that contain graphite sticks you twist or plunge out of the barrel for writing. Sharpwriter mechanical pencils contain #2 lead, a common graphite hardness that sits between a soft #1 and a hard #3 on the lead scale. Paper Mate enhances its #2 lead by bonding the graphite particles, so tips are less likely to break off during use.
