Reinforced tape for different applications
Reinforced packing tape comes with different adhesives suitable for various types of packaging. Rubber adhesives on plastic tape and some fabric tape stick well to surfaces such as paper, fiberboard, and metal. Natural rubber adhesive bonds quickly to surfaces. Synthetic rubber or hot melt adhesives can endure diverse temperatures, and some are resistant to UV radiation.
Some fabric tapes and paper tapes often feature water-activated adhesives, which can withstand extreme temperatures. Because of their strong bonds, they can create tamper-evident seals.
Strong reinforced packing tape
Reinforced gummed tape comes in various thicknesses, ranging from 1.9 to 8 mils. Thick options with fiberglass or poly backing offer high strengths. Like many filament tapes, reinforced packing tape with tensile strengths over 600 pounds are ideal for heavy-duty applications such as strapping. When choosing tape for bundling metal such as steel, opt for tape with high adhesion, like 70 ounce per inch of width on steel. Reinforced paper tapes with fiberglass have low elongation to keep bundles tight, and aggressive high tack ideal for wet applications. Such tape is ideal for palletizing, permanent double matting, and carton sealing.
Reinforced tape for mailing
Some reinforced Kraft tapes with over 60 pounds tensile strength meet USPS standards for sending packages. The yarn is also removable for easy repulping. Some kraft tapes feature starch-based adhesives that create permanent weather resistant bonds. These are essential shipping supplies for packages likely to be exposed to the weather.
