Self-seal envelopes work
These envelopes use an adhesive gum or wax on both flaps that seal the sides together when firmly gripped. They save a step because users don’t have to remove a protective strip from the glue or apply water to activate a sticky adhesive. There are three main types of envelope flaps: wallet, square, and pointed. Most businesses use the wallet type for billing and other reports, and use the square for larger mailings, such as catalogs and oversized brochures. Pointed styles are formal and more common for invitations and similar special mailers. Envelopes come in a variety of sizes that are designated by numbers. For example, #10 self-seal envelopes (500 per box) are ideal for mailing letter-size documentation, while #9 envelopes are suitable as return envelopes as they fit inside #10s.
Self-stick envelopes with address windows
Some types of self-stick envelopes have one or two windows to display printed mailing and return addresses, which also helps customers identify the sender. The display windows make it easier to use computer printouts of invoices and other digital correspondence, and they reduce the need for mailing labels. Increase productivity by reducing the number of mailing steps. Window locations include:

- Single-left
- Single-right
- Center
You can also increase office production by using self-seal padded mailers in place of wrapping products and placing them in shipping envelopes.
Different self-stick envelopes for various tasks
Self-seal envelopes are available in multiple sizes to mail different documents, including oversized items such as catalogs and legal papers. Use mailers that are larger than the documents to reduce bending and tearing. Send delicate items in self-seal poly bubble mailers that use shipping bubble wrap lining on the inside of the envelope. These help keep contents safer than traditional envelopes.
For personal and confidential correspondence, consider envelopes with a security tint. These have a blue pattern that reduces the content’s visibility through the envelope. Offices can also increase document security by using a windowless style. For the most professional appearance, keep blank printer-compatible labels with office mailing supplies. You can write on or use printed labels with these options.
