What Are Office Dividers?
Office separators are part of cubicle and panel systems to segment open-architecture offices into discrete work areas. Most panel dividers are sound absorbing, so they’ll minimize distracting noise in addition to giving workers privacy. Many office dividers are modular panel systems, used as single screens or connected to other panels to form longer privacy walls.
Panels come with stable T-base feet, round self-leveling glides or lockable ball-bearing casters for support and portability. The modular wall panels have sturdy anodized aluminum or heavy-gauge steel frames powder-coated in accent colors.
Office separators are normally 5 or 6 ft. in height and range from 3 to 5 ft. wide. Some office room dividers can double as sneeze guards, which help prevent the transfer of germs between employees and customers. Office panel dividers range from 4 to 30 lb.
What Are the Features of Office Partition Walls?
Office room dividers for segmenting open-architecture workspaces often utilize folding screens made of wood or fabric-covered honeycomb, many with full-length piano hinges for extra strength and durability.
Fabric office panel dividers are available in neutral colors like light and dark gray, as well as in black, brown and beige. You can find more vibrant colors to match your office interior, including greens, blues and other hues so you can match your partition walls to your office’s aesthetic.
Office dividers with wood paneling are available in several elegant stains and finishes, including oak and cherry. Wood folding panels may be solid screens or wood-framed basketry weaves. Some folding panels come with caster brackets on the end panels so the panels can be stored away conveniently.
Other office partitions fit directly on the work surfaces of adjoining or facing cubicle desks. These desk-top office dividers range from 2 to 4 ft. in height, providing ample privacy, with acoustic properties that mute immediate inter-desk noise, particularly useful for heavy telephone use in cubicle arrangements. Many are made with fabric-covered honeycomb, but several are available made with frosted or tinted polycarbonate.
