White vinyl tape for safety and repair

A variety of safety tape is available for showing zones and areas where workers or visitors should exercise caution. Some is perimeter flagging tape, but many rolls include vinyl adhesive-backed tape that goes on industrial flooring and barricade posts as safety zone, equipment, or security marking. Vinyl is ideal for industrial settings because it’s highly tensile, wrapping tightly around objects, and is resistant to oil, moisture, solvents, temperature extremes, and wear and abrasion.

Warehouses prefer using it over paint because the tape is easier to apply and is easily removable. This tape often comes in white and other color striping to indicate specific situations, such as red-white for danger or fire hazards, and green-white for first-aid and safety equipment. Industrial venues also rely on white vinyl repair tape for sealing, protecting, and bundling miscellaneous industrial products, given its strength and ability to conform to irregular surfaces. The rolls are available as duct tape, with a textured adhesive backing that users can tear horizontally or vertically by hand.

Some unique applications for vinyl tape

Vinyl rolls are part of a family of specialty tape that also includes products for chart marking and text highlighting. White vinyl rolls are also useful for identification purposes. Some rolls go in label makers that use thermal-transfer print technology to create black lettering on 0.5- to 2-inch whitetape for tagging or labeling industrial products. White vinyl preprinted letter and number sets, most of them 3 inches in height, are also available for coding and identifying warehouse product racks and locations.

The waterproof varieties are also useful as electrical insulation for exposed wiring or conductors. It stretches around the connections and then pulls back on itself to create tight, moisture-proof seals to prevent corrosion. Vinyl is also nonconductive; it doesn’t transfer current or heat, so it’s completely safe for electrical wiring.
