B2P Pilot pens are ecological pioneers
Many luxury pens come in distinctive metallic or pearlescent barrels. Pilot’s unique B2P line makes its own fashion statement with barrels inspired by the shape and texture of the plastic water bottles from which they’re made. Pilot B2P ballpoint pens contain 86 percent recycled materials, including 83 percent from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. Pilot’s gel-based pens contain 89 percent post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. According to Pilot, almost 50 percent of all recyclable waste each year in the United States comes from plastic bottles.
The three different lines of B2P pens
Pilot offers its pens in three separate lines, each with its own water-bottle-like barrel in specific styles and ink colors:
- B2P Ball Points, with distinctive rubber grips, come in black, blue, and red ink in blue translucent barrels
- B2B Gel Rollers come in black, blue, and red ink in uncolored, semi-transparent barrels
- B2B Colors Gel Rollers have pink, green, lime green, turquoise, and purple ink with translucent barrels tinted in the same color as the ink
Ballpoint B2P pens come with both 0.7mm fine-point and 1.0mm medium-point tips, while Pilot gel pens in both the B2P Gel Rollers and Colors Gel Rollers have fine-point tips. The plunger buttons that retract the ink cartridges are the same color as the cartridge ink.
The types of B2P ink
Many ballpoint retractable pens contain oil-based ink. Pilot formulates its B2P ballpoint pen ink with lubricants that ensure a soft, fluid consistency, ideal for Pilot fine point pens. The writing media of most gel pens are pigments suspended in a water-based gel. Pilot offers its B2P gel pens in G2 ink, a proprietary blend that enables the ink to flow smoothly on paper but with a deep, rich stroke.
Package sizes
All B2P retractable ballpoint and gel pens come in cost-saving packages, from 2- to 5-packs up to an assortment of 36 red, blue, and black Pilot pens in the B2P ballpoint line. The Colors B2P line of gel ink pens comes in assortment packs of five ink colors. Refill ballpoint and gel ink cartridges are two per pack.
