Scotch packing tape for heavy-duty and other applications
Scotch heavy-duty packing tape is suitable for industrial packing and some types have reinforcement to add more holding power. Other options can resist corrosion and UV rays, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Their tensile strengths range from 47 to 380 pounds. Thick tape measures between 3 and 6.6 mil, and its tough design resists splitting, tearing, scuffing, and abrasions. Some tape for medium and light-duty packing have between 1.6 and 3 mil thickness, combining with tensile strengths between 2 and 3 pounds.
Scotch heavy-duty packing tape withstands diverse conditions
Tape for cold weather works at temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit and does well up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. When working in hot conditions, opt for packaging tape that withstands temperatures ranging from 104 to 284 degrees Fahrenheit. These types of adhesives include hot melt adhesives that deliver high holding power. When packages are likely to encounter moisture, cold, or heat, opt for acrylic tape. Rubber adhesives are reliable and stick to surfaces quickly.
